Students visit international airline



Students studying BTEC Extended Diploma in Travel andTourism at NULC visited Thomas Cook’s Cabin Crew Training Centre in Manchester.

17 students with an interest in aviation attended the trip, during the day students took part in a variety of practical activities which developed their skills and knowledge including:
  • Fire & Smoke Procedures
  • Aircraft Door Operations
  • Emergency Drills
  • Aircraft Safety Equipment
  • On Board Safety Demonstrations

Amanda Franklin, Lecturer in Travel and Tourism at NULC said: “This trip has been a valuable resource for a number of the first year units of the course including Customer Service and Handling Air Passengers. Learners can now call on exciting first hand experience to illustrate industry examples within college assignments."

Amanda continued: "The course was an enjoyable day out for all involved and successful students have achieved a certificate from the course and a guaranteed interview for Thomas Cook Airlines.”
