Interested in events management?


Our travel and tourism with events students get ample opportunity to work on events. They recently hosted an event with Kapow Entertainment as part of their course in the Performing Arts  Centre.
 
Just to whet your appetite here's the run down on the course.
 

Extended Diploma in Travel, Tourism & Events

This hands on course offers you an in depth study of investigating the UK as a tourist destination, customer service, marketing, hospitality operations, looking after guests, long-haul travel, the cruise industry, tour operations, working as a holiday representative, events, conferences and exhibitions, entertainment for holidaymakers and practical involvement in running an event. Whether you want to plan festivals, organise local events, develop tourist facilities locally or further afield, or work overseas in holiday resorts, you will be prepared for all these jobs at the end of your training with us.

       Length of courses: 2 years, equivalent to 3 A Levels.

       Course Structure: Practical delivery and continuous assessment throughout the course including working on live projects with local business. 100% coursework; no exams! Students study eighteen modules. National standards are laid down, in which you have to show you are competent.

 

       Entry requirements: Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or BTEC First Diploma (minimum Merit grade)

 

       Options after this programme: success on the Extended Diploma provides you with the qualification to go directly to university to study for a degree or puts you in a good position to gain an apprenticeship or employment in Events and Attractions Management, Hospitality & Hotel Management, Entertainment Management, Cultural Events Management and many Tourism related options including cabin crew, holiday resort representative, cruise operations.
